Employee Success Stories

Kelly began working at Meadowlake in 2016 while transitioning between jobs. While her initial expectation was to only stay for a few months, she found that there were countless opportunities and soon Kelly was learning new things and building confidence in herself (both professionally and personally) all the while making lifelong friendships. Kelly has climbed the ladder from her original position of Front Desk Associate to Reservation Specialist to Training Coordinator and has recognized that no matter what position she holds, she has the opportunity to give our pet guests the best experience possible. Kelly shares that new staff should make their advancement goals known because management will be happy to look into options for you. She states, “As the company continues to grow, the employees will grow with it. I have done things I never thought I would be able to, and accomplished goals I never thought I could reach! Meadowlake will forever have an impact on my life and who I am as a person.”

Jan was one of the first employees at Meadowlake in 2009, starting as a Daycare Counselor. After 2 years of loving the family friendly atmosphere, she made the difficult decision to pursue another passion. However, Jan returned and has been with Meadowlake now for a combined 10 years! Throughout her tenure she was promoted to multiple management positions including Daycare Manager and Customer Service Manager. In 2016, she landed her goal job of being Operations Manager of the 288 South facility. Jan says that she loves her job and the welcoming environment that is accepting of everyone, as well as the fact that Meadowlake values hard work and dedication. Her advice to new staff is simple, “Word hard, stay motivated and let your aspirations be known to management. We love investing in our employees!”

Laura has been with Meadowlake since before the doors opened in 2009. She was hired as the Lodging Manager which she intended to be a stepping stone in getting more management experience on her resume. However, over 13 years later Laura says that Meadowlake is her family and the business has helped Laura to achieve career goals that she never thought were possible in the pet industry. Laura has been the Executive Manager since 2011 and oversees both Meadowlake locations and over 100 employees. Her passion is helping her staff to grow and achieve their dreams all while maintaining the highest level of customer service and pet care in the area. Her advice to applicants is, “Pursue passion in a career first and the rest will come with hard work and determination. There are opportunities available where you put effort!”

In 2019, Corin joined the Meadowlake team with the intention of staying about a year as an Activities Counselor. But soon after starting, management realized Corin’s potential and she was cross trained in many positions including Bathing, Daycare, Front Desk and the Reservations department. Corin says her favorite thing about working at Meadowlake is the relationship she forms with the clients and their pets. She states “I’m very grateful to work for a company that I have had the chance to grow with.”
